It's All About The Curls!

Rëzo was founded in 2018 by master hairstylist and curl specialist, Nubia RËZO  The brand was conceived with the goal of empowering the curl community, celebrating textured hair and promoting healthy hair habits, all through expert curl education and product knowledge.

Nubia RËZO is a New York based master stylist, educator and go-to curl expert, with 40 years of experience in the hair industry. Sought after for her innovative approach to curly haircutting, Nubia possesses a strong passion and deep appreciation for curly hair care. Her extensive experience and pioneering approach has resulted in a long and notable career, making her one of the most in- demand and highly regarded stylists and educators for curly hair globally.

Born and raised in Colombia, Nubia moved to the US in 1975, before training with leading educators at Goldwell, L’Oreal, Wella, Vidal Sassoon, DevaCurl, Ouidad, Aveda, Paul Sebastian, and Mazella & Palmer.

By 2011, Nubia had developed her signature Rëzo Cut. Furthering her passion for expert curl education and product knowledge, Nubia opened the rëzo Academy in 2016 to train stylists on her cutting and coloring techniques. She began touring her in-demand masterclasses around the world in 2017 and launched the rëzo brand in 2018.

The Rëzo Cut was developed in 2011 and has since taken the curly hair world by storm, helping to reignite the love of curly hair for tens of thousands of men and women worldwide. Nubia RËZO has travelled all around the world to train stylists on her rëzoCut and rëzoLites techniques, and today, there are over 100 rëzo certified salons globally.

rëzo launched its namesake line of plant-based haircare products in 2019. The products are 100% vegan, cruelty free, sulfate and paraben-free, and specially formulated for all textured hair types.

In February 2020, rëzo opened its flagship salon location on Madison Avenue in New York City.

Based in Texas, she has become a standout Level 1 educator, known for guiding stylists through the fundamentals with clarity, structure, and intention. Joyce has a gift for simplifying complex concepts, helping students not only learn the technique but truly understand how to apply it behind the chair with confidence. Her approach is patient, methodical, and highly engaging, creating an environment where stylists feel supported as they build their skills from the ground up. She is deeply committed to helping each student walk away with a solid foundation, stronger decision making, and the confidence to work with all curl types. What motivates Joyce most is watching that moment when everything clicks and stylists begin to trust their ability. For her, Rëzo represents more than a curriculum. It is a starting point for growth, confidence, and a lasting career working with textured hair.

Myra


Myra Rosario brings a thoughtful, detail driven approach to the Rëzo Education team, combining strong technical skill with a genuine passion for textured hair. Based in Pennsylvania, she has built her reputation on creating healthy, balanced results while helping stylists truly understand the “why” behind every technique. Myra specializes in guiding stylists through the fundamentals of curl cutting, shaping, and overall hair health, ensuring they leave with both confidence and clarity in their work. Her teaching style is intentional and supportive, focused on helping each stylist develop consistency, precision, and a deeper connection to their craft. Beyond the technical side, Myra is passionate about helping stylists grow their confidence behind the chair and create experiences that make clients feel seen and valued. She is especially inspired by the shift toward embracing natural texture and takes pride in being part of a movement that is redefining beauty standards. For Myra, Rëzo represents more than education. It is about building trust, elevating the client experience, and empowering stylists to make a lasting impact in their communities through their work.

Judith Thomas brings a powerful combination of advanced curl expertise and real world salon experience to the Rëzo Education team. Based in Philadelphia and teaching across the United States, she is a leading educator known for delivering both Level 1 and Level 2 with precision, clarity, and impact. Specializing in the full Rëzo methodology, Judith is recognized for her ability to break down technique in a way that builds confidence and consistency behind the chair. Her mission goes beyond education. Judith is deeply committed to helping stylists strengthen their foundation, refine their skills, and grow into specialists who can truly transform their clients’ relationship with their natural hair. What drives her most is seeing stylists step into their potential and elevate the standard of curly hair services in their communities. For Judith, Rëzo is more than a technique. It is a pathway to mastery, confidence, and a deeper connection to the craft of textured hair.

Marilyn Rose brings a wealth of advanced curl knowledge and professional salon experience to the Rëzo Education team. As a leading Canada curl educator, she blends artistry, technique, and a deep passion for empowering stylists through world class curly hair education.

Specializing in the Rëzo Cut, Rëzo Lites, and modern curl focused coloring, Marilyn is known for her precision, creativity, and ability to transform curls of every pattern. Her mission goes beyond teaching. Marilyn is dedicated to mentoring stylists who want to elevate their craft, expand their services, and confidently serve the curly community.

What inspires her most is the growing Curly Hair Movement across Canada. Marilyn is a driving force in sharing Rëzo's signature techniques, uplifting stylists, and helping salons across the country embrace textured hair with skill and intention. For Marilyn, Rëzo is not just a technique. It is a culture. It is about creating a community of stylists who are confident, skilled, and passionate about serving curls.

As a pioneer, she founded the first salon in the region dedicated to textured hair, helping lead a movement that redefined how curls are seen and celebrated.

Sara was deeply committed to education, training her team to understand that true expertise goes beyond technique, it is about giving women and men confidence in their natural hair. Her dedication to learning and sharing knowledge ensured that every client experienced a consistently high level of care.

More than a stylist, Sara built a community. She empowered people of all genders and ages to embrace their natural texture with pride, leaving a lasting impact that continues to inspire.
